Kartika Prasad, unlike people I mentioned in my article - I solve my problems instead of just complaining and whining. As a holder of a passport of New Zealand, you will never understand what it means to have a Ukrainian passport and prove your right of getting a job, traveling, and even going home. I have certainly inherited advantages from birth - I come from a single-parent family, born in the 1990s when the country was in such a crisis that my dream for New Year was to eat a portion of meat since most of the time we could afford only soups with potatoes and grains. I was using clothes and shoes after my neighbors since my mom couldn't buy me new ones and I was earning my own money since I was 6 years old (smart children could get a scholarship if they showed good academic results), and my first physical work was at the age of 14 in a garden, and since then I have always been working. I got a master's degree in chemistry just because I was smart enough to pass an exam to be the 2nd one out of all applicants since coming from a single-parent family doesn't give you any advantages of applying for a university. For my first trip abroad I was collecting money for 2 years, without indulging myself into buying new clothes, shoes or even go to a cafe with friends. And then a war started in my city and my country-house was destroyed by a mine. And I had to run to Colombia to survive, to a country where I didn't have friends, relatives and even didn't know the language. And there I saw how poor children, with whom I was working, who were not even trying to learn things from me, choosing to spend their time on sex, drugs, and alcohol. Being pregnant at the age of 12 is pretty normal in Colombian public schools. So well, yes, I really have no mercy for people who prefer to choose an easy way and ask others for help instead of striving to change their bad living conditions. And yes, have you ever been a victim of a sexual assault as a man? I was quite a few times, actually, including at work. Have you ever been hiding from missiles exploding in front of you? Have you ever had nothing to eat? Have you slept in the street at least once? I had all those experiences. So if I survived, as a woman, other women also can do it too. And men simply have no right to complain. They don't suffer from even half of the problems every woman faces in their lives.
