Manipulations, lies, and war

“If our soldiers understood what we are fighting over, not a single war could be fought.” — Frederick II the Great
It has been more than a month since a peace treaty was signed in Nagorno-Karabakh. It secured the end of active combat operations that had lasted for a month and a half. This situation got me thinking about a few things …
1) If the armed conflict between the two countries can be resolved in such a short time, why has the war in Donbass been going on for more than 6 years?
2) Why do we keep on spending our money on an army which does not demonstrate us any good results? Should we better abolish the military and use these funds for something we need more at the moment, such as health care?
3) What is the point of fighting for territory in a world where everyone can live anywhere?
The official version of the residents of Azerbaijan says that people just wanted to come back home after staying away from it for more than 25 years. Yet, in Donetsk, after only 3 years, it became crystal clear that many would never be back. They have a new life now, in another city, or even a new country. Therefore, the version that generations who grew up in a foreign land, or those who have lived there for so long would want to start over again in the middle of nowhere, seems completely unrealistic to me. After all, the houses they left years ago, no longer exist. The conflict in the east of Ukraine is also artificial, since the army that failed to win for such a long time, probably simply did not plan to do it. The military operations were organized for mutual benefits. One side had the opportunity to beg for money from Europe and successfully plunder it. The other side could use this territory as a market for the sale and/or disposal of weapons and an excuse for creating corruption schemes in the sphere of medications and social financing. The citizens living in this territory, unfortunately, were simply deceived. From both sides, they were made to believe that there was a certain assailant.
A mentally healthy person, knowing that we only have one life, will never risk it for the sake of the territory, especially when the planet has become incredibly mobile and the concept of global citizens is gaining popularity. Now you must be wanting to ask me: “Is that you are saying that all soldiers suffer from mental disorders?” — The answer is: “Yes!” Even if they were initially healthy, they will develop psychiatric dysfunctions such as PTSD seeing the horrors of war.
To trick people into starting a war, the government instills in our minds the idea that the interests of the state are more important than our own lives. For example, one of my students truly believes that the Russians who emigrate from the country are stupid because they leave the area with a huge supply of resources which sooner or later would be expropriated by other countries if there are not enough Russians left to defend these lands. That was when I asked him a question: “How do you PERSONALLY benefit from these resources?” At that moment he understood everything …
After all, most people do not profit from the country’s resources. In order to live, they have to work and pay taxes, in any country. Does it make more sense then to pay them to the state that uses the money to help the population, instead of buying another luxury yacht for a new mistress?
Dear reader, do you really want to spend your life protecting resources that you will never be able to take advantage of or you would prefer to move to a country where everything is already functioning well? Attempts to change something take your energy, time, and sometimes life. Is it worth it? As Navalny said in his last video, the system is so rotten that it has started working against its creators. Still, these creators, are not at all interested in saving the state. They have prepared an escape plan for their families in London, the USA, Spain, etc. So why would you want to do anything then?
The change in values does not happen overnight though. At first, people try to fight, bring back common sense to society and the government, but sooner or later everyone breaks down. This is when the system begins its ruthless grinding of the souls for the benefit of the ruling elite.
I think you should understand that Lukashenko will not go anywhere, but ordinary Belarusians will sooner or later simply get tired of fighting and accept the cruel reality or emigrate from the country.
Time is an important weapon of politicians, along with historical memory. What a clever stunt of Russia to make people believe that they are a country that defeated fascism, and that they should be proud to be Russians. However, fascism was defeated by the Soviet Union — a state that no longer exists. It is worth reminding that it consisted of 15 countries, and NOT ONLY of Russia. And it won, using people as cannon fodder, and leaving them no choice but to go forth. After all, escape from the battlefield meant death from the hands of your own compatriots.
Nevertheless, Germany, which seemed to have lost both world wars, has a much better level of life today than the victorious country. Not a single country of the former Soviet Union has anything to be proud of. Yet, Ukraine and Russia keep on misdirecting the attention of the citizens from pressing issues, such as a corrupt government and courts, completely collapsed health care systems, education, and the economy. The politicians make residents take the achievements of people who lived in these territories long before the creation of modern states for their own. Which makes no sense. It is as if Europeans were proud that they are Africans. The institution of Motherland and Fatherland is the most dangerous and poisonous for the community, since instead of creating a worthy society, it makes people support thieves and murderers in power, and hate neighbors without any reasonable basis for it.
The residents of Iceland have something to be proud of. They were the first nation to get rid of the gender pay gap. It is an honor to be a citizen of Switzerland. This country, despite the absence of natural resources, is one of the richest countries in the world. Moreover, this wealth is incredibly stable, since, unlike Russia or Saudi Arabia, they do not depend on a finite resource. The Swiss will not lose all of their income if the oil and gas deposits disappear or get depleted. And what can Ukrainians brag about? Should they mention that their country is the most popular sex tourism destination in Europe? And the Russians? Should they reveal the fact that their tourists are hated by all world-famous resorts?
Another reason for such a decaying state of the Slavic countries is false values. After all, we dress for success, which means that it is customary for us to seem, not to be. However, this window dressing only provokes corruption. People want to look rich, and it is easier to achieve if you steal the money, instead of honestly earning it. In this regard, the Scandinavian countries are incredibly successful. It is not customary there to brag about wealth, so everyone looks modest, but in the end, they have no poor people. They also have no need to steal and boast about their treasures, as no one will appreciate it. Maybe we should start recognizing people not for the cost of their phones, but for their intelligence and virtue?
To conclude: we need to value people for their achievements: doctors — for saving lives; teachers for raising future generations of reformers and decent people; plumbers — for … just imagine if there were no plumbers left in the world! It makes sense to love your Motherland only when it has achieved something, but not just because you were born there. No matter what country you live in — always ask yourself the question of who your true enemy is — a neighboring state, Muslims, terrorists, or the government that sends you to war to defend its own interests?!
